THE STORY / 01
An open box. A little Bengal.
The name Banglar Baksho — Bengal’s box — grows from family connections with artisans and suppliers in West Bengal and an ambition to serve Bengali communities at home and abroad.
Imagine opening a box to find a taant saree, a shola ornament, or a carefully selected item for Pujo. The brand aims to give these familiar objects a consistent identity while keeping their regional origins and the people behind them visible.
The original logo uses an open box for discovery, folded forms recalling textiles, and an alpana-inspired motif that evokes Bengali homes and celebrations. English and Bengali typography are used side by side.
"Open a little Bengal." A curated, culturally rooted identity for textiles, crafts and festive objects, with thoughtful sourcing, product storytelling and accessible international presentation.
THE COLLECTION / 02
Tradition, made tangible.
The proposed catalogue begins with goods sourced through existing networks of local producers and small workshops.
Taant sarees
Bengal’s weaving traditions, textile provenance and wearability brought to a clear, carefully photographed catalogue.
Dhuti, panjabi & kurtas
Familiar Bengali garments prepared for gifting, celebrations and everyday cultural connection.
Shola & terracotta
Decorations, Durga figures, festive gifts and craft objects, with maker credits wherever available and agreed.
THE PEOPLE / 03
A brand that begins with its makers.
A central intention is to develop consistent, respectful working relationships with artisans, women producers, home-based workers and self-help groups.
From workshop to doorstep
The proposed approach covers selection, photography, product descriptions, quality checks, packaging and customer communication. Sales channels may include direct orders, Bengali associations and cultural events, with festival pre-orders to improve planning.
Fairer working practices
The brand story sets out an intention to agree on rates, payment dates and realistic deadlines in advance; provide material advances where appropriate; and acknowledge makers with their permission.
These are planned sourcing and operating principles, not claims of certified supply-chain performance or established export operations.
THE ORIGINAL IDENTITY / 04
Two palettes. One sense of belonging.
The original Banglar Baksho concept has two complementary visual modes: an everyday ivory-and-vermilion identity, and an intimate, festive burgundy version.
